TOHOKU FOOD MARATHON 2021 will go online this April!

Dear all runners for TOHOKU FOOD MARATHON 2021,
First of all, thank you very much for your interest and registration for TOHOKU FOOD MARATHON. Your interest and participation matter very much to us, those in Tohoku, and we truly wish your continuous participation and support going forward.

After announcing the cancelation of TOHOKU FOOD MARATHON 2020 and postponement to TOHOKU FOOD MARATHON 2021 scheduled in April 2021, we have been working very hard to make the 2021 event possible, hoping to gather every runner to Tome City not only from all over Japan but also from all over the world, as we had done so in 2014-2019. However, given the unresolved issue around COVID-19 and the current surge in Japan, we have decided to move everything, not only “marathon” but also all the “festivals”, online this time. The newly organized ONLINE TOHOKU FOOD MARATHON 2021 will be held on April 24th and 25th, 2021, as scheduled previously, and you will be able to join from anywhere around the globe.

This year 2021 is in fact the 10th year after the Great East Japan Earthquake and subsequent tsunami occurred in 2011. Thus, we would like to make the ONLINE TOHOKU FOOD MARATHON 2021 a memorial one, not only for those in Tohoku, but also for all including yourself who have cared about us and kindly supported us in several ways in the last several years since 2011. We have currently been working on all the details, and will announce it later this month.

For all runners who registered for TOHOKU FOOD MARATHON 2020 and waiting for the 2021 event, please kindly wait for a bit more until we reach out to you via e-mail again by late January.

Finally, but most importantly, our thoughts are with all those who are affected by the COVID-19 and their friends/family, as well as all the medical professionals and their family who are fighting with it. We strongly hope that the situation will be relieved and resolved as early as possible.
